What is Keyed Alike?

Wondering what keyed alike actually means? Keyed alike is when you have one key to open a number of the same padlock (please see diagram below). The main advantage is that if you order a number of padlocks on the same key it avoids carrying around a large bunch of keys. If you order a number of the same padlock there will be an option within the shopping basket to have your padlocks "keyed alikeā€ at a small additional cost. For many industries and security situations, having a set of padlocks keyed alike is an advantage.
